Ship name library
78 ship names that communities actually use, each one taken apart to show which fragment came from which name. The breakdowns are computed by running every name through the same checker you can use yourself, so nothing here is an assertion we cannot support.
Portmanteau76
Built by joining a piece of one name to a piece of the other.
Trait name2
Built from what the characters are, not from their names, so it cannot be traced back to either one.
There is no popularity score on any page in this library. Counting how much a pairing is used is not something we can do, and every site that publishes such a number has invented it.

How to read these pages
Each entry names the two characters, states whether the ship name is a portmanteau or something else, and shows the trace: which fragment came from which name and how much of each survives. Where the checker cannot resolve a name, the page says so plainly instead of guessing, because a trait name like Wolfstar has no fragments to find.
Each page also shows what our own blender would have produced from the same two names. Usually it is not the name the community uses, and that gap is the most useful thing in the library. It is the same point the limits report makes with computed examples.
Questions
What is a ship name?
A ship name is a nickname for a pairing, usually made by blending the two names into one word. Percy and Annabeth become Percabeth. The word ship is short for relationship, and shipping means wanting two characters to be together.
Are all ship names portmanteaus?
No, and assuming so is the most common mistake in this area. Some are trait names built from what the characters are rather than what they are called, and some communities keep both names side by side with a slash instead of merging them.
Why is there no popularity ranking here?
Because we have no way to count how much a pairing is used, and an invented number would be worse than no number. Every figure on these pages is computed from the spelling of the name itself, which is something we can actually check.
Can I look up a ship name that is not listed?
Yes. The draft checker takes any blend plus the two names you think it came from and traces it back, which is exactly what generated every breakdown in this library.
